Judge Ros Piseth identified the man as 28-year-old Ek Vandouch, a water vendor who lived with the victim in Krorl Ko Kilo Lex 6 commune.
Judge Piseth said Mr Vandouch was charged with rape with aggravating circumstances under Article 241 of the Criminal Code and that he was guilty.
“The court decides to convict and sentence him to nine years in prison,” he said.
According to Judge Piseth, Mr Vandouch married 38-year-old garment worker So Maneth in 2017. Ms Maneth had a son and a daughter.
Judge Piseth said between May and October last year, Mr Vandouch sexually abused his step daughter several times while Ms Maneth was away.
“He abused the victim and raped her at least five times while his wife was not at home,” he said. “After each assault, he told the victim not to tell anyone, or else she would be beaten.”
