Phnom Penh Crown continued their impressive home form as they secured a 3-1 victory against Ministry of National Defense in Saturday’s Metfone C-League highlight.

A superb Mao Piseth header gave the hosts an early lead before MND hotshot Dzarma Bata drew Ministry of National Defense level moments before the half-time whistle.

In the second-half, Brazilian Paulo Victor put Crown back in front from the penalty spot before substitute Va Sokthorn hit a third in stoppage time to give Coach Sum Vanna’s men a valuable win.

“Tonight’s victory came through our team commitment and spirit, coach Sum Vanna told the clubs website. “Everyone worked so hard to get the victory. We don’t usually put pressure on our players because we allow our players to play based on the team tactic and their understanding of the game.”

“Our boys didn’t read the game well and especially when to attack.”

“We still have some issues with our counter attack, so we need to work on it more,” he added.

In Saturday’s other matches, National Police slammed 14 goals past Kampong Cham securing a 14-2 home victory. Angkor Tiger impressed in the Siem Reap derby battling to a comfortable 3-0 win over local rivals Soltilo Angkor.

In yesterday’s early matches, Electricite du Cambodge were 2-1 victors in their away match against Kirivong Sok Sen Chey, while Asia Europe United hit six in a 6-1 win over Bati Academy U18s.
