The Social Affairs Ministry official on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with four organizations with more than $2 million project which mainly focus on disability and rehabilitation of drug addicts.
The MoU was presided over by Touch Channy, General Director of the Social Affairs Ministry’ Technical Department.
The four organizations include Assemblies of God in Cambodia, Cambodian Disabled People’s Organization (CDPO), Disability Development Services Program (DDSP) and Epic Arts. They have helped people with disabilities and drug victims.
Mr Channy said that that the partnership is essential in promoting the social affairs sector in the Kingdom.
“I want to request ministry’s team and organizations to work together closely”, Mr Channy said.
He added that the social affairs ministry welcomes all relevant stakeholders and organizations to help people with disabilities and drug victims make their livelihoods better.
So far, 131 organizations have signed the agreement with the Social Affairs Ministry.
According to the CDPO statement, the project focuses on disability inclusion promotion, cooperation to implement the Disability Law, inclusion of persons with disability in training, capacity building, and network strengthening.
