The annual 2019 Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng Golf Tournament, this year commemorated the 74th anniversary of the founding of the National Police (May 16, 1945 – May 16, 2019.
Competing were almost 200 heads of ministries, institutions, diplomats and national and international players with the competition completed successfully after a full day of competition at Grand Phnom Penh Golf Course on Sunday.
At the closing ceremony, Chea Bora, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism and Secretary General of the Cambodian Golf Federation, told the attendees at Sokha Hotel that it was a meaningful event to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the birth of the National Police.
“[It] serves an important function to help maintain security, public order and social security in Cambodia. [And] it has developed and flourished to this day, he said.
“Through this event, it also shows the government’s interest in supporting national sport, especially golf, towards success. The Federation is preparing to build capacity in accordance with the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia’s four-year rolling strategic plan, “Cambodia Towards Advanced Sport Advantage”, to shape the target of hosting the SEA Games in 2023, Mr. Bora added.
