Heng Sour, spokesman for the ministry, posted on Facebook on Friday, May 17, “I remembered the Venerable Pov Sopheak telling me that there were some rascals from Cambodia and Malaysia who go to Korea to advertise and sell crypto currency to Cambodians there. Please, be wary of them.
“They sell crypto currency. Those who [make profit] are their bosses.”
The money [Cambodians] earn should be sent to their families to expand farms, homes, and the schooling of their brothers or sisters, not to buy crypto currency – which is illegal.
The Prime Minister on May 16 warned the public of Kuala Lumpur-based GCG Asia, which falsely claimed it had full support of the government for their crypto currency business.
“Recently, GCG Asia posted pictures of me, and named me as a fan of theirs, and that I’ll join their ribbon-cutting ceremony in Cambodia on May 20, 2019, on their website . It is not true. All relevant authorities are to monitor and investigate the offender and immediately punish them in accordance with the law.

GCG Asia claims the National Bank and the Bank of China as partners in the crypto currency exchange, but the Indonesian Embassy says the company is on the Black List n that the promoter is wanted by Indonesian police.
Hours after the PM reacted, the police arrested two senior officers of GCG Asia for illegaly using the PM’s name and photos to promote their business.Their offices were temporarily shut down.
