Details for August’s Cycling for Environment and Children’s Health race has been released with interested participants encouraged to register for the sixth edition of the annual race.
The race aims to encourage young Cambodians to join in with social activities in the community while also raising funds and awareness for Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap.
“The 6th Annual Cycling for Environment and Children’s Health 2019 will be held on Sunday 11th of August 2019 in Siem Reap city to raise fund in supporting Angkor Hospital for Children, reads a statement by organisers.
“The Cycling for Cambodia Committee would sincerely like to thank all businesses and individuals for supporting the annual cycling event for supporting Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap over the past 5 years. They raised over $ 70,000 and approximately 4,000 participants, mostly local and expats attend our events.”
To join the event all participants are requested to register by July 31 and pay a fee of $20 per person. Proceeds from the event, after all expenses, will be donated to Angkor Hospital for Children with organisers hoping to raise at least $30,000 (net) from this event.
Cambodia Cycling Company is partnering with Asian Square Group in cooperation with Angkor Hospital for Children, Travel Loops, and Unique Adventure bike shop.
Organisers are also trying to drum up sponsorship support.
“The event will not be successful without the support from all involved included authorities, private sector expats and Khmer participants who commit their time, their energy and their budget to contribute to reach our target amount for donating to AHC, say organisers. “Therefore, we are seeking for the collaboration and sponsorship form private companies to support our event.
Sponsors will have opportunity to place their logo on the branded event materials such as T-shirts, banners, press conference backdrop, presence on social media channels and more.
