A Cambodian TV Station reintroduced its highly-anticipated ‘Kun Khmer Emperor’ series yesterday hosting 8 Cambodian fighters and 8 Thai competitors to compete for $ 10,000 in monthly competition.
At a press conference held at the PNN Arena last week, organisers of PNN TV’s Kun Khmer Emperor event said the series was an unprecedented event.
Every month, two Cambodian fighters will compete against two Thai counterparts win a silver belt championship. After four silver belt winners are found, they will each compete in the semi-finals to compete for the title of Emperor of Kun Khmer and $10,000.
Nguon Phearum, a representative of the Kun Khmer Boxing Federation, said that all boxers had to make every effort to maintain their code of ethics as representatives of Khmer traditional martial artists.
The tournament will be fought in the 60-kilogram weight division and is divided into two groups which include two of the kingdom’s finest fighters Khun Dima and Lao Chetra.
