Cambodian mixed martial arts duo Nou Srey Pov and Chan Rothana represent the kingdom in Jakarta, Indonesia at tonight’s ONE Championship: For Honor showpiece at Istora Senayan.

In a women’s atomweight showdown, Cambodian Top Team fighter Srey Pov will meet Indonesia’s own Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol, while Rothana goes up against unbeaten Indonesian MMA prospect Rudy Agustian.

“ONE Championship has changed my life so much since my debut,” Srey Pov said ahead of her bout.

“When I won in WLC [World Lethwei Championship], not many people knew about me, but now it is very different. Wherever I go, people recognise me.”

Now, she is determined to build on her success and continue to change her life for the better.

Her next challenge is to take out a two-time Wushu World Championship medalist who will be backed by a partisan hometown crowd.

“What I remember the most during that evening in Bangkok is [getting my hand raised] in my very first mixed martial arts bout,” Srey Pov recalled.

“I will always remember the atmosphere in the arena.”

Srey Pov made her ONE Championship debut in February, defeating the popular Rika Ishige at ONE: Clash of Legends. She produced a commanding performance in her ONE debut dominating “hometown hero” Ishige in their women’s atomweight mixed martial arts bout in Bangkok, Thailand.

Her opponent tonight is an Indonesian national wushu champion, who had an exceptional 2018, competing for a total of six times and going 5-1 on the year. Gaol has emerged as one of Indonesia’s fastest rising stars.

Meanwhile, Rothana, founder and coach at Selapak in Phnom Penh, last turned out in the ONE cage last December at ONE: Destiny of Champions in Kuala Lumpur. There, he exacted a punishing defeat of Indonesia’s Abro “The Black Komodo” Fernandes.

Rothana, now 33, was able to fend off Fernandes’ fearsome grappling to secure a TKO finish at the 4:06 mark of the second round.

Rothana next goes up against unbeaten Indonesian prospect Agustian who makes a highly-anticipated return to the cage.
