Strong winds on Wednesday destroyed 55 houses in Preah Vihear province’s Choam Khsan district, but no one was hurt.
Mul Mab, a District Hall official, yesterday said strong winds from a storm on Wednesday evening struck Dos Sre commune and destroyed the houses, most of which were occupied by soldiers.
“The houses were made of wood and housed mostly soldiers,” he said. “Luckily, nobody was killed or hurt during the storm.”
Mr Mab noted that the district has recently been hit by storms with strong winds and the local authorities have alerted people to be careful.
Interior Minister Sar Kheng yesterday visited nearly 300 victims who were affected by strong winds that hit Battambang province’s Thmar Koul district recently.
