The Prime Minister announced on Thursday night that 120 buses are allotted to take citizens, who wish to travel home for Khmer New Year, from the capital to the provinces and back – free of charge. That’s twice as many as in 2018.

Speaking to more than 4,000 Cambodian athletes, coaches, and sports staff at the get-together/solidarity dinner on Thursday, Hun Sen said, “For the time from April 12-18, Phnom Penh Municipal Hall allocates 120 public buses for all citizens and workers to travel from Phnom Penh to the other provinces and from the provinces back to Phnom Penh free of charge.”

He also announced that taxi boats and rail services will also offer their services over the holidays free of charge.

The buses will travel on all Nation Roads 1 through 8 as of April 12.
