The MoU was signed at Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh. The ceremony was presided over by Men Sam An, the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, and Eva Nguyen Binh, the French Ambassador.

Song Thida, president of Linda Gold Crucible, said she is very proud to sign the MoU with Conforama which she says is France’s top home furnishing retail chain and Europe’s second.

“It is no coincidence that this giant company has come to Cambodia. For more than two years we have had a direct relationship with the leaders of Conforama in Paris, who have studied the market in Cambodia for months.

“An important factor [in Conforama’s decision] is the peaceful and stable political situation in Cambodia, which has enabled the economy to grow at a rate of 7 percent every year,” she said.
