Microsoft has given a spec bump to its Surface Book 2 range adding Intel’s latest 8th Gen quad-core i5 processor to the 13-inch Surface Book 2.
The refreshed model is set to be priced at $1,499, packed with an i5-8350U processor maxed out at a clock speed of up to 3.6GHz. The new mid-range Surface Book 2 now comes with 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM, in addition to the new processor. Upgrading to an 8th-gen Core i7 and 512GB of storage however will set consumers back over $1,000 extra.
The Surface Book 2 can provide all-day battery life and is targeted at product designers, gamers, architects, and developers who need the power of a desktop but crave the mobility of a laptop that doesn’t weigh 8-10lbs. Surface Book 2 with the 13” weighs 3.38lbs and the 15” Surface Book 2 at 4.2lbs.
Microsoft will be hosting a Surface event in New York later this month and is expected to announce details of its Surface Hub 2 hardware.
