Defending Metfone C-League champions NagaWorld welcome Singaporean-outfit Tampines Rovers to Phnom Penh’s National Olympic Stadium for their third ASEAN region AFC Cup group clash this evening.
NagaWorld were humbled 10-0 by Hanoi FC in their Group F opener in Vietnam in February. They rebounded in their second group match by clinching a 2-1 win over Yangon United in their second group fixture last month.
Atuheire Kipson scored from the spot to give Nagaworld the advantage early on at the National Olympic Stadium but the visitors immediately struck back with an equaliser through Vinicius Miller.
A Kosuke Yamazaki handball in the box saw Naga awarded another penalty with Kipson netting again to hand the hosts the lead, and eventually the win.
However, Naga go into the tie on the back of a 4-2 defeat to Ministry of National Defense FC at the weekend.
Tampines sit in second place in the group on four points behind Hanoi who top the standings on goal difference.
Tickets for tonights AFC Cup game are available at the ticket booth at Olympic Stadium, priced at 5,000 Riel each.
