NagaWorld FC bounced back from their opening game humiliation by registering a 2-1 win over Yangon United in their second Asean AFC Cup Group F fixture on Monday evening.
Atuheire Kipson scored from the spot to give Nagaworld FC the advantage early on at the National Olympic Stadium but the visitors immediately struck back with an equaliser through Vinicius Miller.
A Kosuke Yamazaki handball in the box saw Naga awarded another penalty with Kipson netting again to hand the hosts the lead, and eventually the win.
Kipson, a 2017 C-League Golden Boot winner, agreed to return to his former club last month after a season in the Malaysian Premier League and the Maldives.
In 2017, he signed a one-year deal with NagaWorld from Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng and made an instant impact, scoring 28 goals in 23 league appearances and winning the league’s Golden Boot award.
Up next for Coach Meas Channa’s Naga is Singaporeans Tampines Rovers.
