Around 100 students from 16 universities and high schools in Phnom Penh successfully organised the Model Asean Meeting at the American University of Phnom Penh on February 26.
The simulation was intended to provide university and high school students the knowledge of Asean meeting procedures and make them more engaged in the understanding of sex and human trafficking. The model meeting, on the other hand, was made to encourage participants to share their thoughts, experiences and perspectives.
“Young Asean people have not only contributed to all stages of social economic development of the country, but also in advancing cooperation and relation between Cambodia and other countries in the region and other parts of the world,” said HE Yeab Samnang, the designated ambassador to Asean.
The delegates representing each Asean country had the opportunity to present their human trafficking related issues occurring in their respective countries. They identified the causes of the human trafficking and brought up highly recommended solutions responding to the issues.
This model meeting took place at AUPP’s state-of-the-art campus with the support from the AUPP community significant and educational for all the participants and audiences.
AUPP is the only university in Cambodia that offers accredited US dual degrees, where students in Cambodia and from the region can experience top quality US higher education and obtain its fully accredited US degrees right here at AUPP in Cambodia. The US degree is offered in addition of the degree from AUPP through the dual degree programmes.
