A pair of Cambodian fighters represent the kingdom tomorrow evening at a ONE Championship showpiece in Bangkok, Thailand this weekend. Nou Srey Pov and Lao Chetra are set to make their promotional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) debuts at ONE Championship: Clash of Legends.
Cambodian Top Team (CTT) fighter Nou Srey Pov will meet Thailand’s Rika “Tiny Doll” Ishige at Bangkok’s Impact Arena in what is likely to be the 22-year old’s toughest fight yet.
Coached by CTT founder Hun Chan Reach, Srey Pov is a Kun Khmer World Champion with a 91-8-2 record. She was also recently awarded World Lethwei Championship’s (WLC) Female Fighter Of The Year.
An atomweight bout against the favoured Ishige could cement her status as an up and coming challenger in Asia’s largest MMA promotion.
Ishige, 29 and fighting out of Bangkok Fight Lab and Tiger Muay Thai, holds a professional record of 4-2.
Meanwhile, also making his ONE Super Series debut will be 19-year old Lao Chetra who is set to face highly-rated Thai fighter Superlek Kiatmoo9. Chetra is regarded as a top Kun Khmer fighter holding the prestigious Bayon Stadium title thanks to his record of 120-21-5..
Meanwhile, Superlek is a two-division Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion and a WBC Muay Thai World Champion, who has achieved more than 100 wins in his career so far. He was also named as his martial art’s best athlete by the Sports Authority of Thailand in 2012.

He boasts notable victories in the most prestigious venues in his homeland and on the international circuit, including multiple wins over Muangthai PKSaenchaimuaythaigym, a TKO of Jonathan Haggerty, and a defeat of Panpayak Jitmuangnon.

Last December, Selapak fighter Chan Rothana, Cambodia’s premier mixed martial artist, returned to the cage with a punishing defeat of Indonesia’s Abro “The Black Komodo” Fernandes at ONE: Destiny of Champions In Kuala Lumpur.
Rothana, returning after a long absence, was able to fend off Fernandes’ fearsome grappling to secure a TKO finish at the 4:06 mark of the second round.
At the same event, Cambodian-American Sovannahry Em made it a Khmer one-two as she kick-started her ONE career with an impressive win over Iryna “Delsa” Kyselova in the first round of their 63.5-kilogram catch weight bout.
Eight other bouts have also been confirmed for ONE: Clash of Legends, including the main event, which will see the inaugural ONE Super Series Muay Thai Bantamweight World Title match between Nong-O Gaiyanghadao and Han Zi Hao.
