S’ville beach’s clean machines

Minister of Tourism Thong Khon, on behalf of the National Committee for the Management and Development of the Bay of Cambodia, handed over two beach cleaning machines to Preah Sihanouk province on Thursday (Jan. 31).

The committee asked charities and the private sector to jointly buy the machines, and the committee bought three cleaning machines to distribute to the coastal provinces.  Two beach cleaning machines were delivered to Preah Sihanouk province, and one for Kep and Kampot provinces.

Minister Khon said that he expects the machines to facilitate and ease the task of keeping the coast rubbish and waste free.

“Citizens and private enterprise, especially the vendors along the beach, have come together to manage and take care of our coastal region.  A cleaner environment at the beach will attract tourists.”
