Boeung Ket mull foreign signings and foreign tour

Boeung Ket Angkor coach Hao Socheat has said that his club were looking into acquiring some new foreign players ahead of the 2019 Metfone C-League season which gets underway in March. He also stated that the 2017 & 2018 League champions are also planning to undertake a tour abroad to prepare for the new season.

To prepare for the new season, which starts in early March, Boeung Ket needed to sign foreign players. said Socheat. Boeung Ket said farewell to midfielder Esoh Paul Omogba who moved to league rivals NagaWorld as well as Brazilian hotshot Maycon Calijuri who chose to prolong his career at Shan United in Myanmar.

“We have yet to make any signings for the new season, said Socheat. “In the past, we have seen that our new and old players are not 100 percent consistent but we will try to prepare well before the league starts.”

Coach Socheat also said the club would be preparing for training camps abroad in one of the three ASEAN countries; Thailand, Indonesia, or Malaysia. “We have a lot of options like Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. We see football in all three countries currently experiencing significant growth in ASEAN. Our goal is to play friendly matches with strong teams. [And learn from] experienced players in these countries to motivate our players.”
