Smart Axiata has announced that all customers can now buy their applications, content and other digital goods and services using their Smart main balance.
After launching this service for Google Play Store earlier this year, Smart Axiata extended SmartPay to the Apple ecosystem and enabled purchases in places such as App Store, Apple Music and iTunes.
With the Apple ecosystem added into SmartPay, Smart customers with mobile devices running on iOS are now able to purchase applications, movies, games, eBooks, make in-app purchases and do much more with their App Store, Apple Music, iCloud and iTunes.
SmartPay purchases use the Smart main balance, therewith there will be no need for a credit or a debit card to enjoy the benefits of App Store, Apple Music and iTunes.
Stjepan Udovicic, Chief Marketing Officer of Smart Axiata, said: “Following the introduction of Smart Wi-Fi Calling and eSIM, we are very happy to end the year with this latest announcement. With SmartPay we are liberalizing the use of app stores in Cambodia.
“With the launch of direct operator billing for another massive ecosystem, Smart customers can also enjoy Apple digital experiences that are simple, transparent, safe and seamless. From today, Smart customers can purchase digital content from both Apple and Google without a bank account or a credit card – increasing the digital inclusion and accessibility of these platforms in the Kingdom.”
The SmartPay service does not require a subscription fee except a 10% service fee. An SMS notification will be sent to confirm each purchase.

To use SmartPay for paying in App Store, Smart customers will just need to go through a few simple steps for a one-time registration while being connected to Smart’s network: Sign in with Touch ID, Face ID or Apple ID with password; Select payment information; Select “Mobile Number”, then select “Account”; and complete the account authorization.
