- TADA ride-hailing service will not be operating on a profit-focused model to support traditional Cambodian Taxis
- Drivers will keep 100% of earnings to better their livelihoods and enhance the service to passengers
- Second market for TADA after positively impacting 27,000 local drivers in Singapore
Phnom Penh, Cambodia – MVL Foundation Pte. Ltd. (Mass Vehicle Ledger, MVL), the company behind blockchain-based ride-hailing application TADA in Singapore, announced today the launch of the service in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. TADA, which translates to “Let’s Ride” in Korean, aims to ensure that both the drivers’ incomes and commuters’ fares are protected and competitive without compromising on the quality of the ride experience.
TADA operates a zero commission, on-demand ride-hailing service that is based on the incentive-based blockchain mobility ecosystem, MVL. The not-for-profit model is made possible by the transparent and accountable mobility data ecosystem underpinned by the blockchain technology that MVL has developed.
TADA will be working with Choice Taxi in a strategic partnership to introduce TADA in Phnom Penh. Drivers from Choice Taxi will be first to enjoy zero-commission TADA bookings from passengers. Drivers from all taxi companies will also be able to join the service during this roll-out phase.
Commenting on the decision to launch TADA in Cambodia, Kay Woo, founder of MVL Foundation, said: “Since introducing our zero-commission ride-hailing service in Singapore, TADA has positively impacted the lives of thousands of riders and drivers. Our aim in Cambodia is not to compete with traditional taxi companies. TADA’s mission is to support our traditional taxis operators and drivers with a ride-hailing platform that they can call their own in the form of TADA. Together we can create value and a good impact for our community, and give better livelihoods and experiences to all our stakeholders.”
