Phnom Penh Municipal Court today charged a famous DJ and three accomplices with drug possession, and trafficking more than one kilogram of crystal meth and ecstasy pills, in Chamkar Mon district on Wednesday.
Sok Chantha, a court clerk, identified them as Hem Borith, known as DJ Lion, 33, a former CTN presenter living in the district’s Tonle Basac commune, Sin Somphors, 33, jobless and living in Tuol Kork district, In Sakhorn, 51, also jobless and living in Meanchey district, and Var Sreyna, 38, a KTV worker living in Chamkar Mon district’s Boeng Trabek commune.
Mr Chantha said that Mr Borith was charged with drug possession and trafficking and also unauthorised use of a weapon, while the other three were charged with drug possession and trafficking. Each faces life in prison if convicted and all four are in prison pending trial.
DJ Lion gained fame in 2005 while working with CTN.
