At least four people died in a traffic accident today in Koh Kong province that also left 11 people hospitalised.
Sok Phorn, Botum Sakor district police chief, said the accident occurred at about 12.30pm in Botum Sakor district’s Andong Toek commune, where a truck carrying 15 people careened off the road and down a hillside after losing control while navigating a sloped street.
“There are four people confirmed dead thus far,” he said. “Five others were seriously injured and six others suffered minor injuries.”
Mr Phorn noted the truck was carrying the passengers to a concert that they were due to perform at in Koh Kong city.
“Our police officials concluded that the truck driver did not know the road well and did not apply his brakes properly,” he added.
