Event Spotlight: Marina Bay Singapore Countdown

Have you made your plans for New Year’s Eve? We’re down to the last 24 days before we bid farewell to an eventful 2018, and the best place to end this year and start a new one is the Marina Bay in Singapore, where a fabulous line up of activities await!

There are two countdown events at Marina Bay happening at the same time. The first is the Star Island Singapore Countdown Edition, taking place at the Float @ Marina Bay! Be wowed by this multi-sensory fireworks musical by Japan’s Avex, which combines larger-than-life pyrotechnics, lights, 3D sound and performance acts to mark the international debut of this landmark Japanese production. Find yourself immersed in a multi-sensory lightshow as each visitor has an individual synchronised LED band, as part of the colourful celebration. Tickets range from S$38 to S$148 and include entrance to the seating gallery and marketplace.

The second is Mediacorp’s Let’s Celebrate 2019 countdown show, taking place at The Promontory. Hosted by top radio jocks Jean Danker, Mike Kasem and Kimberly Wang, this celebration features local celebrities such as Taufik Batisah, Gentle bones and more! Find models and designers, choreographed by a team of best-in-show creatives including award winning director Daniel Boey, as part of the show as well. Everyone can catch this exciting line-up starting from 9.30pm, as for the first time ever, this show is free entry to the public!

Aside from fireworks displays and live entertainment around the waterfront, a convoy of food trucks that will dish out regional cuisine will surely satisfy the craving of the Foodie in you. Food Truck Fest will be happening right at the promenade of Marina Bay Sands, which features the largest gathering of local food trucks, showcasing local talents like Kampong-style New Ubin Seafood, Michelin Bib Gourmand award winner Fishball story, and lots more.

Witness a unique campaign put together through collective effort to support the less fortunate, Build a Dream. From 26th to 30th December 2018, artworks by students from the five welfare organisations and schools partnered with Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2019, will be transformed into light projections on iconic landmarks like the Merlion, ArtScience Museum and The Fullerton Hotel Singapore.

If these line-up of events are not enough, be sure to head over to the Prudential Marina Bay Carnival that is bringing over 50 thrilling rides and games like Jumper Jumper, Wave Swinger and Remix Extreme that will definitely get you screaming with thrill. Find an array of activities besides the rides, like collecting many adorable plushies when you try out the game booths or filling your cravings with the all delicious carnival food available like churros, Indo Mee, meatballs and more!

Are you ready to mark the end of 2018 and begin another beautiful and action-packed 2019 by the Marina Bay? Total fun, entertainment and glee await you!
