The ability to wirelessly charge your phone is nothing new. Nowadays, the cumbersome process of connecting your phone to a cable means you’re limited by having to set it on a wireless charging pad that’s connected to the wall. However, a new breed of portable wireless powerbanks is hoping to make wires a thing of the past.
Unlike other options on the market, the Pluto Wireless combines a power bank and a wireless charging pad into a sleek, aluminium unibody so you can have all the benefits of wireless charging while still juicing your phone on the go, courtesy of an easy to carry power bank with up to 20 hours of battery.
The Pluto Wireless made its debut on Kickstarter and quickly crossed its funding goal in less than 20 hours. Made with minimalist design, premium materials and respect for the environment, Pluto Wireless has sent out a powerful statement about bringing order into complexity.
A unique wireless power bank with extremely fast charging Qi technology (average 2 hours for a complete charge), Pluto Wireless is an ultra-portable device to keep phone going no matter where we are. Made with environment-friendly materials and designed for intuitive use, it delivers a safe, reliable 10W charge to Qi-enabled smartphones. Just place your phone on the non-slip surface and charging begins on contact.
It also packs wireless reverse charging, what the company considers a breakthrough technology, allowing Pluto Wireless to charge itself wirelessly when kept upside down on its mat! Simplicity at its best.
Pluto Wireless has fashioned the device uses premium aluminium blended with luxurious fabric and high-end technology. The fabric is specially engineered to resist scratches, and colours and materials chosen after research to reflect light for the most appealing looks. Assembly without the use of screws lends the device an exceptional touch and feel.
Technically, Pluto Wireless satisfied strict standard expected of today’s gadgets. The case is 100 percent aluminium and comprises a 10,000mAh Lithium Polymer cell with 10W wireless output. Protection against overheating, overcharge, and surge protection is in-built.
The device carries USB-C and USB-A ports, and features a cool LED charging indicator. An additional feature is priority charging, which allows the phone to be charged first and not the device when it is plugged into an adapter.
The device is compatible with iPhone and Samsung Fast Charge, working with a wide range of brands, including Samsung, Sony, LG, Nokia, Microsoft, Google and more. Among iPhones, the charger will work with iPhone Xs/X, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone 8.
The device will be available for $99 on release but is open for a hefty discount for early funders.
The device remains open for funding on Kickstarter with a tentative delivery date of March 2019.
