Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) personnel unearthed 128 mortars on Thursday, Sept. 13, that were buried in the grounds of Preah Vihear Temple.

Director General of CMAC, Heng Ratana, said that his experts cleared the cache of 60mm mortars and disposed them.

The mortar rounds were covered with a tarp to protect from moisture before they were covered with earth.  This was presumedly an ammo stash of the Khmer Rouge from the period in which they occupied the temple – 1992/1993.
