NagaWorld’s Khmer New Year concerts draw massive turnouts

Cambodian pop stars concert drew massive crowds.

Three nights of consecutive live concerts, organised by NagaWorld in collaboration with City Hall, featuring a host of Cambodian celebrities, attracted massive turnouts who experienced the first-of-its-kind, large-scale Khmer New Year celebrations at Hun Sen Park last weekend.

The crowd were treated to traditional Apsara performance, as well as local and international bands, musicians and street performers throughout the day. On Friday night, Cambodian music fans were treated to a magnificent live concert by popular singers Sokun Nisa and Khemarak Sereymun.

On Saturday night, the crowd were entertained by The Voice Kids Cambodia winner Pich Thai, energetic duo Kmeng Khmer and young female starlet Yuri. The final concert on Sunday night featured rap superstar G-Devith, Pich Thai, and the sons of local legend Preap Sovath – Sovath Monivann, Sovath Monineak and Sovath Sereyvuth.

The live concerts were held in a carnival-like atmosphere which also showcased giant-sized displays, festive decorations and a line up of various activities.

The unique celebrations were launched on 13 April and provided a mesmerising experience for everyone and showcased Cambodia’s rich culture, hospitality for locals and tourists alike.

Larger-than-life displays were illuminated at night, creating opportunities for photograph lovers, and this included a huge dog to mark the ushering in of the auspicious Year of the Dog in the Khmer calendar, as well as other equally interesting features such as a Mekong lobster, swan, hot air balloon and more.

The giant swan at Hun Sen Park created a lovely photo spot.

Admission was free for all to experience the buzzing excitement at the Times Square of Phnom Penh.

NagaWorld’s Khmer New Year celebrations continues with a special Khmer food promotions at The Pangea restaurant (Level 1, NagaWorld. The Royal Khmer Dinner Buffet featured at the restaurant from 5:30pm to 9:30pm daily features authentic Cambodian recipes from across 25 provinces crafted by local award-winning chefs using premium ingredients.

Diners can also enjoy live cultural performances, while group discounts are available for 5 persons or more.

Alternatively, guests can also sample the Khmer New Year special dishes at Indochine (Level 1, NagaWorld), The Vimean-CityWalk (Ground Level, NagaWorld) and Golden Bowl (Level 1, Naga2) from now till the end of April.
