Two Chinese mafia members were jailed for 15 years each yesterday for kidnapping and raping a masseuse and trying to extort $10,000 from the boss of her shop.
Dai Ze Qing, 43, and Yang Qui Feng, 39, were arrested in November 2016 in Kandal province after they kidnapped the 24-year-old Chinese girl who worked with a Chinese massage shop in Phnom Penh’s Pur Senchey district.
Presiding Judge Seng Rithy said they were charged by Phnom Penh Municipal Court with arrest, detention and unlawful confinement with aggravating circumstances, and rape.
“The court convicts them and sentences them to 15 years each,” the judge said.
The victim said that on November 23, 2016, she was contacted by Dai Ze Qing by a WeChat message to have sex with him at a hotel in Pur Senchey district near Phnom Penh International Airport at about midnight.
She said that after chatting with each other, Dai Ze Qing took her to the hotel to have sex.
“But when I was brought into the hotel room, he grabbed me and raped me,” she said. “After the rape, he gave me to another Chinese man, Yang Qui Feng, to rape me.”
“After they both raped me, they detained me in their room. They took a knife and threatened to kill me if I shouted,” she added.
She said that after the rapes, she was brought by the two accused by taxi from the hotel to be detained at a hotel room in Kandal province’s Takhmao City to extort money from her boss.
They forced her to call to her boss and demand $10, 000, she said.
She added that while she was detained at the hotel room in Takhmao City, she was raped by both men again.
During their trial last month, the two accused said they had sex with the victim, but did not grab or confine her as she alleged.
They also claimed that they did not threaten or extort money from the victim.
