CPP congress on political platform 2018

The CPP held their congress on Friday to adopt a political platform for the 2018 to 2023 legislative period.   The three-day extraordinary congress will end on Sunday.

Prime Minister Hun Sen said, in his address to the congress, that it will focus on defining the CPP’s political platform for the upcoming national election.  He made clear that the impending Senate election, and the subsequent national election will take place as scheduled – the Senate election on February 25 and the national election on July 29.

Heng Samrin, Honorary President of the Cambodian People’s Party, spoke at the congress and stated that the congress will adopt the draft annual report for 2017.  It will also set the party’s goals for 2018, adopt a political platform for 2018-2023, and vote to add members to the CPP Central Committee.
