Preah Sihanouk provincial government has again ordered a Chinese-owned casino to demolish part of its newly constructed premises because it caused damage to a road and was built without permission.
According to a notification issued to the New Macau Casino in Leak 4 commune on June 2, the expansion of its building for a new kitchen and generator room caused damage to a state-owned road.
No action has since been taken and provincial governor Yon Min said yesterday that he has again directed the casino to remedy the situation, demanding that the newly constructed part of the building be demolished and moved elsewhere.
“I will not allow any building to damage the state’s streets,” he said. “Sihanoukville town is a tourism town and so any buildings that cause damage to the city must be moved.”
