THE 2nd Thansur Bokor International half marathon and bike race concluded on Saturday on Bokor Mountain, Teuk Chhou district in Kampot with approximately 700 runners and 300 cyclists taking part in the national event.
Cambodian runner Ma Viro grabbed the winner’s medal in the 21 kilometer half marathon main event, clocking a time of 1 hour 27 minutes and nine seconds. He was followed close behind by Briton Neil Burns. In the women’s main event, Jill Hamill of Ireland placed first on the podium with Veronique Messina of France garnering second place.
Seng Kheong and Hong Chanmakara claimed first and second respectively in the main bike race event.
The two-day event, which is in its second year, is organized by Thansur Bokor Hotel and Resorts, an affiliate of the Sokha group of hotels. Proceeds from the race are to be donated to Kantha Bopha Childrens hospitals.
