Hun Sen Park was buzzing with an exciting line-up of activities for all to enjoy when festivities and celebrations to usher in the Khmer New Year ended yesterday.
The joyous carnival-like atmosphere at the unique outdoor event was a mesmerising experience for everyone with special decorations, cultural performances, fun activities and spectacular music parties which featured a host of local celebrities.
Organised by NagaWorld in collaboration with City Hall, it was the first large-scale outdoor Khmer New Year celebration and was the perfect avenue for locals and tourist to come together to revel in the festivities and appreciate the culture, traditions and Khmer hospitality of Cambodia’s biggest annual festival.
The event was launched by Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh H.E. Huot Hay and NagaWorld management with a special lighting up ceremony, followed by spectacular performance featuring both cultural and international acts.
Gigantic features and festival decorations were illuminated in the evening and remained on display at the park throughout the event, creating ideal opportunities for photography moments with family and friends until last night. The larger-than-life objects included a huge dog marking the auspicious Year of the Dog in the Khmer calendar, as well as other equally interesting features such as a Mekong lobster, swans, hot air ballroom and more.
