Cambodia’s Davis Cup team returned to the kingdom yesterday after suffering relegation to group IV of the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania zone.
After a week’s play in Vietnam at the My Dinh Sports Complex in Hanoi, the kingdom registered a 0-3 loss to Saudi Arabia in their relegation playoff on Sunday evening to seal their fate for next year – a return to group IV.
After issues with discipline in their opening loss to Malaysia, Cambodian veteran Bun Kenny sat out of the 2-1 win over Pacific Oceania, as Cambodia went down to defeats to Vietnam, and Saudi Arabia.
Jordan will join Cambodia in group IV after losing 1-2 to Pacific Oceania in their relegation playoff.
Group winners Kuwait and hosts Vietnam were both promoted to group II.
