Malaysia to Sign MoUs with Kingdom

Khmer Times Share:

Malaysia may soon cooperate more closely with a number of the Kingdom’s ministries if all goes according to plan after this week’s 25th World Economic Forum on Asean (WEF) in Kuala Lumpur.
The two countries will sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) about Malaysia’s involvement in the ministries of information and broadcasting, education and agriculture during the two-day forum, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister Sry Thamrong told reporters at the Phnom Penh International Airport yesterday.
He added that Prime Minister Hun Sen and a delegation would be paying an official four-day visit to Malaysia to attend the forum, which started yesterday.
Mr. Thamrong said the premier will receive a bell during the closing ceremony of the WEF, in recognition that the annual forum will be held in Cambodia next year.
Mr. Hun Sen’s visit will include a closed-door meeting and official talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on Friday.
“After the official talks, there will be a signing ceremony of three documents,” Mr. Thamrong said.
Information Minister Khieu Kanharith and Agriculture Minister Veng Sakhon will both sign MoU’s related to their ministries, he added, while Education Minister Hang Chuon Naron will sign an MoU with Malaysia’s MYCorps International Volunteer Program.
