The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has appealed to people in coastal provinces to brace for storms and rough seas until Monday. Fishermen were told to be especially vigilant, since large waves are expected.

According to the ministry, Koh Kong, Preah Sihanouk and Kep provinces will be worst hit by the bad weather, caused by low pressure and the southwestern monsoon.

Heavy rain is also expected in Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Kampong Cham, Tboung Khmum, Kratie and Mondulkiri provinces.

Pailin, Battambang, Pursat, Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Kampong Thom, Stung Treng and Ratanakkiri provinces are likely to experience moderate rainfall.
