Prime Minister Hun Sen yesterday discussed religion and Cambodian Muslims with former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
After the 90 minutes meeting at the Peace Palace, Mr Hun Sen’s assistant Eang Sophalleth said Mr Abdullah had come to the kingdom to find out more about how Islam is practised here.
Mr Abdullah, who is chairman of the Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia, was Malaysia’s PM from 2003 to 2009.
Mr Hun Sen told the Malaysian delegation that Cambodians are free to follow any religion they liked.
