Police have arrested three teenagers for throwing rocks at passing cars in Battambang town.

A provincial police officer named them as Yeang Lihov, 18, Chea Ratany, 18, and Bin Phanith, 17.

All of them live in Battambang province. They were being questioned at the provincial police office after their arrest yesterday.

Town police chief Pang Heang said the three had long been wanted by officers.

“They have been throwing rocks at cars for some time. We had deployed forces on the streets to track them down,” he said.

“However they never came out when our officers were there.”

Mr Heang said the group were drunken hooligans.

“They threw rocks at cars not to steal from them, but for fun. After throwing rocks, they would drive off on their motorbikes.”
