Thirty-one unexploded grenades thought to date back to the civil war were found yesterday at a landfill in Phnom Penh.
The M79 shoulder-launched grenades were found by the land owner as he was filling in the plot in Trapeang Krasang commune, Por Senchey district.
“The grenades must have been there since the civil war,” said Por Senchey district police chief Yim Saran. “They have been handed over to the Cambodian Mine Action Centre.”
