The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has issued another bad weather advisory, warning storms will continue until the start of next month.

The advisory said forecasts are now predicting rains across the country will last until May 6.

“Please be careful of lightning and storms, especially on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in lowland and highlands areas,” the announcement said.

Lightning killed another two people on Tuesday.

The National Police website reported a 60-year-old woman died after being struck in Somrong town, Oddor Meanchey province, where 47 houses were hit by rainstorms.

A 57-year-old woman was killed by lightning in Kandal province’s Ksach Kandal district, said Eav Chamroeun, provincial police chief.

Storms in Pailin and Svay Rieng provinces destroyed ten houses. Three people were injured after their homes collapsed, the ministry said.
