Over 48 migrants repatriated

The Cambodia embassies in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Laos helped to repatriate 48 migrant workers and Cambodian people and all of them arrived home safely.

According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s statement of March 23, the embassy in Indonesia helped five Cambodian migrants home.  They had been working as fisherman.

Furthermore, the embassy in Malaysia helped 14 illegal migrant workers return, and the embassy in Singapore aided one migrant who could no longer tolerate the hard work required of him/her over there.

The Consulate-General of Cambodia in Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Laos) intervened to arrange the release of 28 Cambodian citizens who had illegally crossed the border to work in Laos,
