Por Senchey district military police arrested a 36-year-old man on Tuesday for allegedly torturing and sexually assaulting a 30-year-old woman whom he was living with in Chom Chao II commune.
Captain Ly Sophal, deputy commander of Por Senchey military police, identified the suspect as Nim Chhin snd the victim as Lay Vilay. He said the two lived together but were not yet married.
Cap Sophal said that according to the victim’s complaint, the two began living together last year and since then, he often forced her to have sex with him while he filmed the encounter.
Cap Sophal said the suspect confined the victim for two days earlier this month,
“He tortured her and forced her to commit oral sex. He took a razor and cut her genitals,” Mr Sophal said. “He confined her in his rented room. He tortured her and forced her to have sex with him.”
According to Mr Sophal, the victim later filed a lawsuit against the suspect after he freed her on Monday.
The suspect is being detained for questioning at the military police station, he added, noting that police have accused him of illegal confinement and torture.
The suspect is due in court today.
