At least two people died and three others sustained injuries on Thursday during a landmine clearance training at the tank headquarter in Kampong Speu province.
According to Sam Sak, provincial penal bureau chief, the incident occurred about 3 pm on Thursday at the tank headquarter (ACO) in Phnom Sruoch district’s Moha Saing commune.
The dead included an Australian trainer who was identified as Aarou Sweeibm, 40 and Cambodian military officer, Kuy Mok, 52.
“One Australian national, trainer and one military officer are reported that they die instantly,” Mr. Sak said, noting that another Australian national also sustained slight injury during the explosion of landmine while training was conducted.
