The seventh Sihanoukville annual half-marathon will be held on Sunday in the beautiful beach town of Sihanoukville with organisers expecting an improvement on last year’s numbers. Ochheuteal beach will be both the starting and finishing point.
Vath Chamroeun, the Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, said the number of registered entries numbered more than 1,000, including over 200 foreigners from a total of 28 participating countries. Japan had most entrants.
The secretary-general expects this figure to increase to more than 2,000 and is likely to beat the 2017 edition.
In last year’s races, Ma Viro won the 6th Sihanoukville International Half Marathon, while Lois Woodward of Great Britain took the top prize in the women’s category.
