PM wants more women officials

Speaking at the International Women’s Day celebration on March 8, the Prime Minister said that, as the CPP candidate for re-election, he is considering increasing the number of secretaries and undersecretaries of states, and urges more women to take such positions.

“I hope that next year there will be an increase in the number of secretaries and undersecretaries of states,” he said.  “This is what I think as premier candidate for the CPP.”  He also wants to see more women appointed director of department or general director at various ministries.

In a part of his speech he asked the various ministries to look for qualified women to fill such positions, and that the appointment of those positions will be made by the royal degree, and will not require ratification by the National Assembly.
