Cambodia’s Ministry of Women’s Affair” and Cambodian Women for Peace and Development (CWPD) received three vans, 21 computers, and a monetary donation from the All-China Women’s Federation on March 3.
The donations were presented to ministry and CWPD representatives by Xiong Bo, Chinese ambassador to Cambodia.
Ing Kantha Phavi, women’s affairs minister, thanked to Shen Yueyue, president of the All-Chinese Women’s Federation and the Chinese government, for their support of and cooperation with the ministry and CWPD.
“I strongly hope that the Chinese government will continue to support us, as the cooperation will strengthen the solidarity between Cambodia and China,” she said.
Ms Kantha Phavi explicidly thanked Mr Bo for the $15,800 to help organize International Women’s Right Day on March 8.
Mr Bo told that these gifts were organized by Shen Yueyue after her last visit to Cambodia in May, 2017.
He also supports and encourages Cambodian women, and women around the world, to take on important roles in society.
“We are happy that under the leadership of Samdech Decho Hun Sen Cambodian women have advanced, and their roles in politics and economy have become more important,” said Mr Bo.
“We believe that a jointly contracted Cambodia-China Women Training Centre, supplied with all needed materials, will stimulate Cambodian women to create their own business, to find jobs, and acquire professional skills and improve their futures.”
