Cambodia’s Boeung Ket welcome Shan United of Myanmar for their second AFC Cup Group F game this evening – and fans will be praying to avoid a repeat of their last outing.
The defending Metfone C-League champions started their campaign in the worst possible way as they were dismantled by Philippines Football League club Ceres Negros 9-0 in their group opener on February 15.
Like their Cambodian counterparts, Shan United also lost their first group match, although the Myanmar-side gave a better account of themselves losing to just one goal – a 1-0 loss to Singaporeans Home United at the Thuwana Stadium in Yangon. They currently occupy third position in the Myanmar National Football League table.
Tonight’s match is set for a 6:30 pm kick-off and will be hosted at Phnom Penh’s National Olympic Stadium.
