Two motorbike taxi drivers were charged by Banteay Meanchey Provincial Court yesterday for trafficking nearly a half kilogram of methamphetamine.
Ngeng Sokchea, chief of the provincial anti-drug department, said Vann Mao, 41, and Soth Mab, 36, sold drugs at casinos along the Cambodian-Thai border in Poipet town. He added they were charged by the provincial court’s prosecutor with drug trafficking yesterday.
They were arrested on Thursday at about 5pm after provincial police from the anti-drug department in collaboration with local police raided their rental house in Palaley II village.
Police seized a total of 79 packages of crystal methamphetamine, 154 tablets of ice, one drug scale, six mobile phones, and other related materials from them, added Mr Sokchea.
