With four of Cambodia’s finest footballers making the leap to the Malaysian Super League (MSL) this year, Khmer Times is keeping fans abreast of their fortunes after all four featured in matchweek three at the weekend.
After a loss and a win in their opening two games, Chan Vathanaka’s Pahang fired back at their doubters with a 3-0 win at home to Kelantan. While Vathanaka was not among the scorers, he did assist with the opener for Francis Doe Forkey to open the scoring in the 13th minute.
Also on Saturday, Thierry Chantha Bin was a starter as he helped his side Terengganu to record their first win of the season and stay undefeated; a 4-1 at home to visiting Selangor. The clubs’ opening two matches had both ended in scoreless draws.
On Sunday evening, Keo Sokpheng was on the substitute bench as he watched his Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak suffer a 1-0 defeat at home to Kedah. Prak Mony Udom wrapped up Cambodian participation in the weekend action as his Negeri Sembilan went down to a 3-0 thrashing from Melaka United.
