Two suspected drug dealers were yesterday charged for trafficking nearly one kilo of methamphetamine in Phnom Penh.
Sok Chantha, deputy chief of Dangkor district police, identified the suspects as Nuth Lina, 30, and Yim Bunchhay, 29.
They were both charged yesterday with drug trafficking by Phnom Penh Municipal Court and face 25 years each in prison if convicted. “They were arrested while they were selling drugs to our undercover police,” Mr Chantha said.
Mr Chantha added that they were arrested on Thursday while selling the drugs in Dangkor commune.
After the arrests, police seized a total of five big packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing nearly one kilogram, two motorbikes, two phones and other drug-related materials. The suspects have been detained pending their trial.
