After surrendering a two goal lead at home to draw 3-3 in the first leg in Phnom Penh, Cambodian league champions Boeung Ket regrouped for Friday’s second leg to defeat Lao Toyota at Vientiane’s KM16 Stadium.
The 1-0 (4-3 aggregate) win came courtesy of a Khuon Laboravy strike in the second half and they now advance to the next stage of the competition.
Skipper Laboravy ghosted into the crowded Toyota box to strike an audacious and unsighted 61st minute winner, handing the visitors a ticket to the group stage.
The three-time C-League champs have been drawn in the three-strong Group F alongside group favourites Ceres-Negros of the Philippines, Home United of Singapore and Shan United of Myanmar.
Each team will meet each other home and away with Boeung Ket’s first match an away trip to face Ceres-Negros on February 13.
