Four men and three women were sentenced to prison yesterday by Phnom Penh Municipal Court for trafficking nearly one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine and ecstasy last year. Their sentences varied greatly, with some sentenced to three years in jail and others to 30.
Keuth Saing, the court’s presiding judge, released the identities of the suspects.
Kim Sreypich, 25, the owner of a make-up shop, and her younger brother Kim Kuy, 20, were both sentenced to 30 years.
Three others, Long Leakhena, 23, and Min Thida, 25, both women, as well as Bun Khim, 41, were sentenced to 20 years. Kim Sreypov, 20, was sentenced to 10 years, while 19-year-old Kim Kou only got three years.
Mr Saing said they were arrested on December 28 when police raided Ms Sreypich’s make-up shop in Phnom Penh’s Russey Keo district and found the narcotics.
